Broking in Reinsurance – Treaty Reinsurance Specialist
About the Role
We’re seeking resourceful and proactive professionals eager to advance their careers within a dynamic, market-leading team at Guy Carpenter in London or Israel. In this key brokerage role, you’ll specialize in treaty reinsurance programs for property, motor, and casualty lines, focusing on the Israeli market, while delivering exceptional service to regional and multinational clients.
You’ll join a high-performing team where your unique skills and contributions are valued and respected. This is an excellent opportunity to influence reinsurance strategies, build long-term client relationships, and negotiate favourable terms that drive optimal value for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting reinsurance renewals for regional and multinational clients and prospects.
- Engaging with clients to deeply understand their risk exposures and needs, fostering trusted, enduring relationships.
- Designing tailored reinsurance programs that align with client requirements and placement with client-approved reinsurers.
- Negotiating pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure optimal outcomes for clients while maintaining strong reinsurer relationships.
- Preparing critical placement documents – cover notes, contracts, and placement slips – ensuring accuracy and adherence to market standards.
- Actively monitoring and chasing up contract documentation to eliminate processing delays.
- Maintaining relationships with reinsurers, clients, and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally.
- Developing/updating market knowledge on reinsurers, including their product lines, capacity, and approval processes.
- Staying informed of market trends and conditions to inform negotiations and client advice.
- Accurately documenting all client correspondence, placements, and communications in line with Guy Carpenter’s procedures.
- Efficiently managing reinsurance placements through Guy Carpenter’s online portal (GC Market Place).

What You Need
- Solid industry expertise: Proven knowledge of the insurance or (re)insurance market, particularly in property, motor, or casualty exposures.
- Interpersonal and collaborative skills: Ability to effectively engage with colleagues at all levels, clients, and industry professionals.
- Conflict of interest management: Strong ability to identify, handle, and disclose conflicts with professional integrity.
- Attention to detail: Exceptional ability to work under pressure while maintaining highly accurate documentation and time-sensitive fulfilment.
- ACII qualification or combined skills: Strong preference for ACII-qualified candidates or those actively pursuing this internationally recognised designation.
