#Lloyd's Ceded Reinsurance Finance Manager

A global Insurer and Reinsurer operating in the Lloyd's market has partnered with us to recruit a Ceded Reinsurance Finance Manager for their internationally based Reinsurance Accounting function.

About the Role

You will lead key aspects of ceded reinsurance accounting, ensuring financial integrity, efficient operations, and strong stakeholder engagement across Finance, Underwriting, Claims, brokers, and external counterparties. This role underpins regulatory, statutory, and management reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and review quarterly ceded reinsurance underwriting results, including accurate GAAP, Statutory, Lloyd’s, and management reporting
  • Oversee month-end and quarter-end close processes, including:
    • Journal entries
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Account analyses
    • Compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Direct the accounting and administration of ceded reinsurance transactions
  • Lead a team of two accounting professionals, allocating work, reviewing deliverables, and providing guidance and coaching
  • Strengthen the financial controls framework and spearhead process improvement initiatives to streamline reporting and enhance efficiency

Requirements

  • Demonstrable technical experience in reinsurance accounting, ideally within a Lloyd’s Syndicate environment
  • Extensive experience in preparing and reporting financial results under GAAP
  • Proven managerial experience (mentoring, mentorship, oversight, or leading under periodic close processes)
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills for cross-functional collaboration (Finance, Underwriting, Claims, brokers, stakeholders)
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel proficiency
