Senior DevOps Engineer – Hastings Group

Key Responsibilities

Here’s what the role entails:

  • Deploying multiple code packages into development, test, and live environments
  • Planning and managing deployment processes (including rollback plans)
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining automated deployment tools and processes to improve operational efficiency and accuracy
  • Continuously identifying improvements to deployment processes, focusing on automation efficiencies
  • Setting up new environments (multi-component configurations) and supporting testing teams by investigating environment-specific challenges

Skills & Experience We’re Looking For

Core Skills

  • Experience with shell scripting/programming
  • Strong problem-solving intelligence
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and adapt quickly to changing plans
  • Fast learner of new tools, technologies, and methodologies
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across teams and suppliers
  • Speed and efficiency under tight deadlines

Technical Proficiencies

  • Automation and application design
  • Systems/unit/deployment testing methodologies
  • Object-oriented design principles
  • Unit testing, peer code reviews, and release processes
  • Collaborative working or interfacing with internal / external teams and suppliers
  • Understanding of infrastructure components
