About the Role

The Relationship Banking Associate provides high-quality customer service and responsiveness to fulfil the needs of both internal and external customers, ensuring satisfaction. This role involves:

  • Processing routine transactions accurately and adhering to policies/procedures.
  • Identifying and referring sales opportunities to appropriate business partners.
  • Supporting basic consumer deposit account openings.
  • Managing relationships, resolving issues, and promoting customer satisfaction.

Roles & Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities (65%)

  • Efficiently process routine and non-routine transactions with high accuracy:
    • Standard teller operations
    • Meeting deadlines and adhering to procedures
  • Maintain administrative tasks, including:
    • Updating records
    • Preparing reports
    • Daily vault balancing
  • Adhere to security controls to prevent financial losses.
  • Referral and relationship management to align with business objectives.

Customer Engagement (25%)

  • Engage customers through consultative conversations to assess and address needs.
  • Handle basic deposit account openings and direct customers to specialist partners when required.
  • Prospect and maintain existing customer relationships while identifying new opportunities.
  • Take ownership of issue resolution and complaint-handling to ensure responsiveness and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate internally to meet customer needs promptly.

Community Involvement (5%)

  • Participate in community events supporting the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).

Additional Duties (5%)

  • Perform any further assigned tasks as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of experience in:
    • Banking-related positions (ideal)
    • Equivalent sales/customer service roles

Skills & Competencies

✔ Proficient communication and listening skills ✔ Ability to identify customer needs and sales opportunities ✔Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills ✔ Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment ✔ Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills ✔ Proficiency in computer systems

Physical Requirements

  • 50% stationary work, with frequent movement between areas
  • Bending/crouching/squatting as needed
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs
