Relationship Director-Mid Corporate

Relationship Director – Mid Corporate Business Area (Corporate Banking)

As a Relationship Director in the Mid Corporate business area of Corporate Banking, you will:

  • Seek to understand our clients’ objectives, opportunities, and challenges
  • Work with them to achieve their business ambitions
  • Provide expert industry insight across every sector: manufacturing and technology, restaurants, law firms, and more
  • Collaborate with product specialists to deliver the appropriate financial solutions for clients

To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Need

  • Previous Relationship Director experience
  • Commercial Effectiveness, including:
    • Client focus and commerciality
    • Control environment and risk management
  • Business skills, covering:
    • Delivering solutions and decision-making
  • Interpersonal skills, such as:
    • Communication, influence, and collaboration
  • A successful track record of:
    • Business development
    • Acquiring new clients
  • Excellent knowledge of the Sussex market

Purpose of the Role

  • Identify and seize business opportunities

Accountabilities

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify:
    • New opportunities
    • Market trends
    • Customer needs
    • Modernise growth strategies
  • Identify leads through:
    • Networking
    • Referrals
    • Cold calling
    • Industry events
  • Develop and execute strategies for business acquisition and expansion, including:
    • Preparing proposals and presentations
    • Negotiating contracts
  • Collaborate with relationship teams, product managers, credit analysts, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure:
    • Seamless delivery of banking products and services
  • Manage client relationships by:
    • Understanding financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance
    • Analysing data to uncover trends, insights, and improvement areas
  • Research and understand:
    • Industry trends
    • Regulatory landscape
    • Competitive environment
    • For strategic recommendations
  • Design and implement customised solutions addressing:
    • Clients’ specific needs and objectives
    • Using a range of products and services from the bank
  • Communicate the value proposition of solutions, including:
    • Justifying recommendations
    • Negotiating terms that benefit both client and bank
