About the Role
As the Relationship Management Director, Government (EMEA), you will lead a high-performing team of Relationship Managers to deliver exceptional client experiences, drive portfolio growth, and strengthen strategic partnerships across enterprise accounts. Your role will be pivotal in deepening relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and ensuring seamless delivery of world-class solutions.
In addition, you will champion Worldpay’s presence across the Government sector by representing the brand at key industry events, building thought leadership, and fostering connections that amplify our market influence.
What you’ll own
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Relationship Managers across the Government, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
- Client Growth & Retention: Proactively identify client needs and opportunities to expand Worldpay’s share of wallet through strategic cross-sell and upsell initiatives, driving sustainable portfolio growth.
- Strategic Relationship Building: Establish, nurture, and expand strong, multi-level relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within client organizations to protect and grow strategic accounts.
- Market Presence & Brand Advocacy: Extend Worldpay’s presence across the Government by representing the brand at key industry events, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing our web of influence through thought leadership and strategic engagement.
- Customer Experience Optimization: Champion initiatives that improve client experience and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes, ensuring solutions align with client goals while driving Worldpay’s growth objectives.
- Product & Market Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of Worldpay’s solutions, industry trends, and competitive landscape to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients.
- Proposal & Presentation Excellence: Guide and support RMs in preparing and delivering compelling proposals, RFP responses, and Quarterly Business Reviews, utilizing Worldpay’s resources and tools.
- Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Lead and support the negotiation, structuring, and closure of complex deals that align with client expectations and Worldpay’s delivery capabilities, leveraging internal resources as needed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including product, operations, and marketing teams, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and timely resolution of client issues.
- Sales Strategy & Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of Account plans and strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Performance Management: Monitor and drive achievement of sales goals and objectives for the team and individual RMs.
- Client Onboarding Transition: Partner with Sales leaders to ensure a smooth transition of newly acquired clients into the RM portfolio, ensuring a seamless experience during the first three months post go-live.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and share best practices to enhance client experience and operational efficiency.

What you’ll bring
- Deep expertise in financial and payment technology ecosystems, including systems, applications, and payments practices, with the ability to translate this knowledge into strategic client solutions.
- Proven leadership experience, with a passion for coaching and developing high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex enterprise environments.
- Strategic mindset and problem-solving ability, with a track record of driving innovative solutions that optimise customer experience and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Analytical and consultative approach, skilled at assessing client needs and converting insights into actionable growth strategies.
- Resilience under pressure, adept at managing multiple priorities while maintaining focus on client success and operational excellence.
- Active engagement in industry networks and events, demonstrating thought leadership and extending Worldpay’s market presence within the Government sector.
- Ability to build and strengthen trusted relationships across internal teams, external partners, and client organizations to enhance our web of influence and drive strategic growth initiatives.
- Flexibility to travel as required to meet business objectives and represent Worldpay at key industry forums.
