Relationship Manager

Relationship Manager - Natural Resources, Institutional Banking Group

This is a 13-month fixed term contract (maternity cover).

The Relationship Manager will assist the Team Head and Senior Relationship Managers in maintaining and expanding existing client and bank relationships, as well as actively contributing to achieving departmental and branch earning targets and budgets.

Job Responsibilities

New Business

  • Identify and proactively develop new, profitable business aligned with the departmental strategy for UK and other European corporates.
  • Undertake research and financial analysis of target clients.
  • Develop and structure creative credit solutions for existing and target clients.
  • Market all bank products and/or services, with assistance from product specialists where required.
  • Pursue cross-selling opportunities for the bank group in other markets.
  • Prepare credit applications/facility offer letters/review documentation (in liaison with external lawyers if required).
  • Liaise with other banks to gain new business opportunities in both primary and secondary markets.

Account Management

  • Ensure all relationships are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Act as the key contact point for allocated client relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure active account management is maintained, including structuring creative credit solutions for clients.
  • Deliver a high level of customer care and professional service consistently.
  • Resolve queries/problems promptly and efficiently.

Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with internal and external (FCA, PRA, etc.) regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure new business aligns with the branch risk strategy.
  • Fully exploit existing relationships while creatively managing them to maintain acceptable credit risk.
  • Process credit applications and reviews as required.
  • Liaise with other bank departments to complete facility formalities on time.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and ensure ongoing monitoring of credit quality.

Additional Duties

  • Ensure individual performance targets are agreed, met, and exceeded.
  • Maintain up-to-date product and market knowledge.
  • Carry out other assignments as requested by the bank, locally or globally.
