Job Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for the role of a Gas Seals Reliability Engineer who will be reporting to the Gas Seals Reliability Manager. The role of a Gas Seals Reliability Engineer is to support external customers on all technical aspects including design, manufacture, build and test. This will involve looking at fast turnaround projects with levels of complexity varying. You will support sales network and carry out technical assessments detailing recommendations to support business plans.
The role is open to be located at our headquarters within Slough site. Working Monday to Friday during normal office hours.

Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Evaluating in house test failures and considering dry gas seal designs while looking for solutions.
- Performing and interpreting calculations, analyses, and computations for unknown factors involving well-understood mechanisms.
- Prepare and present technical presentations to internal & external customers.
- Preparing technical feedback for both internal & external customers.
- Supporting commercial teams in technical meetings with customers to help resolve issues and build relationships.
- Liaising and working alongside Development Engineering occasionally when developing point solutions.
- Working with Operations to ensure stakeholders are apprised of project progress.
- Utilising proprietary FEA analysis software to investigate issues.
- Producing Concept sketches, in CAD to convey design modifications.
- Providing detailed technical support to customer queries.
- Constantly maintaining the company’s professional image via effective communication.
Qualifications
- Relevant work experience in a mechanical engineering role.
- Experience with: Rotating Equipment, precision engineering, forensic analysis, the oil & gas industry would be an advantage.
- Previous experience in failure analysis and root cause analysis will prove advantageous.
- Ability to read P&ID, General Arrangement and detail drawings.
- Awareness and general knowledge of controls, control systems and instrumentation.
- Able to create and work to a plan, delivering on time and to expectations.
- Can work independently and drive team goals forward.
- Ability to conduct and lead meetings.
- Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness.
