Reliability Maintenance Engineer

Reliability Engineer (36.5 Hours/Week, Burton upon Trent)

Location & Salary

Ops at Sustainable Roofing Solutions (Marley) Burton upon Trent • £52,000–£60,000 (incl. competitive benefits)

Key About the Role

As a Reliability Engineer at Marley – part of Marshalls plc, Britain’s leading roofing/security infrastructure firm – you’ll become a pivotal part of our fast-evolving Engineering community. With a 100+ year heritage underpinned by modern innovation, we’re transforming sustainability in pitched roof systems while fostering growth for our engineering talent. Join a team where your technical expertise can shift our industry’s trajectory—while your career prospers with it.

Marley’s engineering speciality includes the PdM of our automated manufacturing facility, and here, you’ll make hands-on reliability improvements—keeping our production lines at peak efficiency (and earning big rewards for it).

** Mission & Responsibilities

Leading a preventative action neighbourhood: Actively drive plant reliability by constantly monitoring plant health, analysing trouble spots, prioritising risk-oriented solutions—and scaling smarter maintenance where it adds value. You’ll act like the coach that other teams (production, maintenance, engineering) rely on—to plan capital projects, stabilise KPI performance, and fan-out lean best practices across the plant floor.

Core Job Functions

  • Proactive Equipment Oversight
    • Maintain SAP’s master preventative maintenance (PM) schedule tailored to production needs
    • Perform scheduled inspections on all systems (plant, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation)
    • Validate and update asset condition databases, ensuring the reliability CMMS is error-free
    • Champion condition-based monitoring (CBM) tools for early-spotting anomalies: vibration, non-destructive testing, thermography, tribology

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
