Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Planner – Positions Available EU-wide

Without the Amazon Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, critical operations grind to a halt. As an RME Planner, you’ll be a crucial link in Amazon’s vast EU-wide maintenance network, influencing technology strategies across warehouses and delivery networks. Your role revolves around proactive problem-solving, efficient maintenance planning, and mastery of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to keep operations running seamlessly.


About the Role

Based at one of Amazon’s operational sites, this role demands analytical skills and technical fluency to managing maintenance resources, forecast demand, and collaborate across regions. You’ll balance sharp foresight with hands-on execution, ensuring -amerhouseholds everywhere receive their orders without delay.

As part of our diverse and cross-functional team, you’ll work closely with engineers, logistics specialists & Engineering teams to optimise maintenance workflows, reduce downtime, and driven efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Resource Planning & Allocation: deciding where maintenance resources should be deployed using CMMS software. Setting accurate inventories to prevent shortages or overstocking while meeting operational demands.

  • System & Compliance Management: Ensuring all warehousing and delivery systems comply with EU standards, reducing errors and improving consistency.

  • equipment and Maintenance Forecasting: Continuously monitoring networks and sites to ensure stock levels align with future needs. Using data-driven insights to improve prediction accuracy for spare parts and equipment maintenance.

As the RME Planner, your mission is immediate: maintaining operational momentum. Each day brings fresh challenges, from addressing urgent maintenance needs to strategising long-term equipment upgrades. Here’s a snapshot of your impact:

  • Proactive Equipment Monitoring: Tracking maintenance schedules and utilising real-time data to anticipate potential breakdowns.
  • Collaboration-Driven: Working with local and regional engineers to improve system usage, prioritising interventions that yield the best results.
  • Driving Simplification: Continuously seeking ways to optimize workflows and reduce energy wastage or repair disruptions.
  • Cross-Team Coordination: Sharing advice with colleagues to keep the entire Amazon logistics operation running smoothly.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling and auditing, ensuring efficiency and adherence to policies.
  • Proficiency in working with CMMS software.
  • Background in operations or inventory management, showcasing your ability to maintain processes in fast-moving environments.
  • Strong familiarity with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) at a professional level.
  • Effective English-language communication skills (written and spoken), both as an internal and external-facing collaborator.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with digital asset management tools to streamline operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to train peers, hourly associates, or senior leaders on key operational practices.
  • Hands-on experience implementing or configuring a new CMMS system, with forethought to scalability challenges.
