A Little More About Your Role…
You will be providing RAM leadership and guidance to our clients across projects involving rail infrastructure, rolling stock and signalling, etc. You will be providing a range of consulting services to clients and be a trusted contributor to project requirements, leveraging your knowledge from a RAMS Engineering perspective. You will undertake BS EN 50126 RAM activities including; RAM plans, Functional Analysis, Functional Block Diagrams, reliability/availability apportionment, predictions and modelling, FMECAs, Fault Tree Analysis / Reliability Block Diagram, DRACAS and maintainability analyses. You will cross collaborate with team members to manage the minimisation of project risks and enhance the positive integration/delivery of the projects You will project manage staff and directly manage sub-contractors whilst supporting junior RAM members of the team and providing mentorship where appropriate, and acting as the focal point for technical expertise and guidance. You will ensure the full management and delivery of projects, whilst ensuring the ongoing development and management of strategic client relationships. You will deliver support to RAM and, when required, safety activities in other sectors and provide input to proposal writing and future tender submissions. You will be encouraging and promoting the innovation and implementation of new techniques and tools which may improve efficiency and effectiveness of the services offered by the System Engineering, Integration and Assurance (SEIA) Group. You will promote the WSP brand to help the team secure business opportunities in existing and new projects through active involvement with industry partners and professional engineering institutions. This may include sitting on councils, committees and working groups which promote and drive technical excellence in the field of RAMS, and / or writing and presenting papers at conferences and events.

What We'd Be Looking For You To Demonstrate…
A degree in a technical engineering related discipline, or extensive relevant experience. RAM engineering experience (rail desirable, but not essential). Corporate membership with an appropriate professional institution (e.g. SaRS, IET, IMechE). Professional registration as a Chartered Engineer (or significant progression towards that goal). Proven ability to provide technical leadership to a team of RAM and Safety Engineers. Proven ability to support RAM and Safety engineering activities and/or arguments to clients, acceptance/approval and regulatory authorities in the UK, with international experience desirable. Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of the BS EN 50126 RAM activities throughout the life cycle of rail projects. Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined team Extensive knowledge and experience in a mainline or metro railway discipline, e.g. Signalling, Control Systems, Traction Power, Depots etc.
Desirable Requirements
Experience of working on international projects. Industry recognition in the field of RAM. Fellowship with an appropriate professional institution (or significant progression towards that goal) e.g. SaRS, IET, IMechE. Experience in other sectors (e.g. aviation, nuclear, oil&gas, defence). Experience in the consultancy environment.
