Salary: £47,500 per annum + Excellent Benefits!
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

We’re now recruiting for a Reliability Technician to join our Rolling Stock Engineering team someone with sharp fault-finding instincts, hands-on technical expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement.
This isn’t your everyday maintenance role. It’s your chance to play a critical part in improving the reliability, safety, and performance of our fleet!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Performing preventive, corrective, and reliability-based maintenance on trams covering mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Using computer diagnostic equipment, on-tram systems and electrical test tools to troubleshoot, fault-find and repair issues.
- Carrying out on-depot and on-network testing to ensure trams are fit for service.
- Attending in-service failures to minimise disruption to passengers and the network.
- Supporting modifications, configuration updates and reliability improvement campaigns across the fleet.
- Assisting with data capture and analysis, feeding insight to the Fleet Engineers.
- Conducting root cause analysis to prevent repeat failures and drive performance improvement.
- Coaching and mentoring members of the rolling stock team to build capability and share knowledge.
- Ensuring accurate maintenance records are logged via paper forms and/or the Asset Management Information System (AMIS).
- Supporting Rolling Stock Engineering Management in delivering the production plan.
- Working collaboratively across teams to drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes, documentation and tooling.
- Undertaking driving duties within depot confines in line with operating procedures.
- Complying with all Health & Safety policies, procedures and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
- Working either a day shift or split morning/afternoon shift roster as required.

What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a time-served apprenticeship.
- Practical experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining complex systems (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or similar).
- Confidence using diagnostic software, schematics, and test equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to fault investigation and record keeping.
- A proven safety-first mindset, ideally from a safety-critical or regulated industry.
- Excellent teamwork, communication and mentoring skills – someone others can rely on and learn from.
- A Full UK Driving Licence and the ability to pass drug & alcohol testing, a medical assessment, and company vetting.

Experience within rolling stock maintenance or reliability engineering would be advantageous, but we also welcome candidates from industries such as aerospace, automotive, HGV, defence, or other safety-critical sectors.
