Job Title: Relief Care Worker
As a Relief Care Worker, you'll provide practical support, encouragement and companionship to older people, helping them live safely, comfortably and with dignity. Working on an as-needed basis, you'll play an important role in supporting residents while enjoying the flexibility to fit work around your commitments.
What You Will Do
- Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
- Assist with meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration
- Promote independence, choice and wellbeing
- Encourage participation in activities and social opportunities
- Build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
- Provide companionship, reassurance and emotional support
- Maintain accurate records and follow care procedures and best practice
About You
You will be caring, reliable and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to supporting older people. You'll be comfortable working as part of a team and able to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues. Previous experience in care is welcome but not essential. We're equally interested in people with the right values, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to support others.
You will hold, or be willing to work towards, an SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Healthcare. This role requires membership of the PVG Scheme and registration with the SSSC.
New to care?
Many of our colleagues joined us from retail, hospitality, customer service, administration and other sectors. We'll provide a full induction, ongoing training and support to help you build your confidence and develop your skills.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.
