This is an exciting opportunity to join Buxton Museum and Art Gallery as it begins an important new chapter. We are looking for a friendly, practical and enthusiastic Museum Attendant to help create a welcoming, engaging and safe experience for every visitor.
You will be part of a small team helping to keep the museum open, accessible and enjoyable for local people, visitors and community groups. The role includes:
- Welcoming visitors
- Answering enquiries
- Keeping gallery spaces clean and well-presented
- Supporting exhibitions and displays
- Helping with the museum shop
- Assisting with the care and documentation of collections

We are looking for someone with:
- Good customer service skills
- Clear communication
- Confidence using Microsoft Office
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
An interest in museums, galleries, local history or heritage would be an advantage but most important is a positive, helpful approach and a commitment to giving every visitor a great experience.
