Relief Pharmacy Technician / Relief Dispenser (Pharmacy Assistant)

Day Lewis Pharmacy - Herefordshire & Forest of Dean

Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 9:00am - 6:00pm

Are you looking for a pharmacy role that offers variety, professional development and the opportunity to work with a number of experienced pharmacy teams?

Day Lewis is looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Relief Pharmacy Technician or experienced Relief Dispenser (Pharmacy Assistant) to join our friendly and supportive Relief Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in different pharmacy environments, meeting new people and developing their skills across a number of successful community pharmacies.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9:00am - 6:00pm
  • 1-hour unpaid lunch break

This is a full-time position with no regular weekend commitment, hours may vary depending on Pharmacy opening times.

Your Relief Area

You'll provide support across our pharmacies in:

  • Day Lewis Hereford
  • Day Lewis Berry Hill
  • Day Lewis Coleford
  • Day Lewis Newent
  • Day Lewis Ledbury

As this is a travelling role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.

About The Role

As a valued member of our Relief Team, you'll provide essential support wherever it's needed, ensuring each pharmacy continues to deliver safe, efficient and outstanding patient care.

Depending on your qualifications and experience, your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the dispensary with the safe and accurate dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Providing excellent customer service on the pharmacy counter.
  • Supporting the Pharmacist and wider pharmacy team with the day-to-day running of the pharmacy.
  • Assisting with the delivery of NHS and private pharmacy services.
  • Building strong relationships with patients, GP surgeries and other healthcare professionals.
  • Helping maintain high professional and operational standards across all pharmacy locations.

Whether you're a qualified Pharmacy Technician or an experienced Dispenser/Pharmacy Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting our pharmacies and ensuring every patient receives exceptional care.

Travel & Mileage

As part of the Relief Team, you'll travel between our pharmacies to provide support where it's needed most.

To help with travel costs, business mileage is reimbursed at 55p per mile for eligible business journeys.

Mileage claims are submitted through the Concur expenses app and must:

  • Be supported by valid fuel receipts.
  • Be submitted within 31 days of the journey.
  • Comply with the Day Lewis Expenses Policy.

  • A qualified Pharmacy Technician or an experienced Dispenser/Pharmacy Assistant.
  • Friendly, approachable and professional.

  • Adaptable and confident working across different pharmacy teams.
  • A positive team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible and willing to travel between pharmacy locations.

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to your own vehicle.
  • Ability to travel between all relief pharmacies as required.
