Relief Retail Security Officer
Security Officer (Site-based) – Site Security Role

Job Overview
To protect customers’ property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the site’s published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes.
- Deliver results that meet and/or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Service Level Agreements for the customer, ensuring contract retention.
- Undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
Main Duties
Operations
- Ensure compliance with all policies, UK Law, and legal/regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties as defined in the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).
- Proactively review and update AIs to suggest improvements that enhance service quality.
- Maintain and wear:
- A valid front-line SIA licence (either Security Guarding or Door Supervision).
- A CCTV PSS SIA Licence (requisite for this contract).
- Complete additional risk training as per contract terms.
- Follow instructions and procedures methodically, without unnecessarily challenging authority.
Training
- Complete all required competency training successfully.
- Participate in additional training as directed by the Security Account Manager to promote continued professional development.
- Utilise technology to achieve work objectives and develop job expertise.
- Renew licences 16 weeks before expiry.

Security & Health & Safety
- Actively identify and report any Health & Safety hazards promptly.
- Stay alert to potential threats, taking immediate action to prevent disruption, loss or damage.
- Exercise common sense and initiative, escalating risky situations.
- Maintain professional conduct under pressure, especially with difficult customers.
- Log detailed incident reports in the notebook following any incidents.
- Adhere to scheduling requirements and demonstrate commitment to both Mitie and the client.
- Ensure check calls are carried out as per AI schedules.
- Call emergency services and Communication Centre when reporting incidents.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous security experience (preferred).
- Valid SIA Licence (mandatory).
- SC Clearance (desirable).
