Job Description

Job Title: Relief Security Officer

Location: Ceva Logistics Upper Heyford - Camp Road, Heyford Park, Upper Heyford, Bicester, OX25 5HA

Working Hours: Zero Hours – Holiday & Sickness Cover

Pay Rate: £13.86 per hour

Reporting to: Operations Manager/ Assistant Contract Manager/ Regional Supervisors

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable and flexible Security Officer to join our team at CEVA Logistics, Upper Heyford. This role is ideal for someone looking to cover holiday and sickness shifts, including short-notice cover, and who is happy working predominantly outdoors.

The site is a busy logistics environment, and you will play a key role in maintaining safety, security, and smooth daily operations. Duties include vehicle booking-in and out, monitoring CCTV, and dealing professionally with visitors, drivers, and contractors.

This position would suit someone with minimal other commitments who is happy to be called upon at short notice and can work flexibly when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Booking vehicles in and out of site
  • Monitoring and operating CCTV systems
  • Controlling access and managing site visitors and drivers
  • Carrying out regular patrols of the site (majority outdoors)
  • Maintaining accurate records and incident reports
  • Responding to incidents appropriately and escalating when required
  • Ensuring site rules and procedures are followed at all times
  • Providing a professional and approachable front-of-house presence
  • Supporting site operations during busy periods, holidays, and sickness cover
  • Maintaining high standards of conduct, safety, and security

Requirements

  • Valid SIA Licence (DS or SG) – essential
  • Full 5-year checkable employment history
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Flexible and reliable with the ability to work at short notice
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident dealing with drivers, visitors, and contractors
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information

  • This role involves outdoor work – full uniform and wet weather PPE will be provided
  • Shifts will vary depending on site needs
  • Ideal for someone seeking flexible work without fixed weekly hours
  • Must be able to travel to CEVA Logistics Upper Heyford, OX25 5HA
