Job Title

Relief Security Officer

Location

CEVA Logistics sites covering Oxfordshire (including Stanton Harcourt, Witney, and Upper Heyford).

Working Hours

Zero Hours Contract – Covering holidays, sickness, and short-notice requirements.

Pay Rate

As per site rate.

Reporting To

  • Operations Manager
  • Assistant Contract Manager
  • Regional Supervisors

Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a reliable and flexible Relief Security Officer to join our established team, supporting CEVA Logistics sites across Witney, Stanton Harcourt, and Upper Heyford.

Ideal for those seeking flexible work to cover holidays, sickness, and short-notice operational demands, this role requires experience in diverse environments—both indoors and outdoors, including all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining site safety, security, and smooth daily operations.
  • Controlling access, managing visitors, drivers, contractors, and staff.
  • Booking vehicles in and out accurately.
  • Monitoring CCTV systems where required.
  • Conducting regular patrols.
  • Handling professional interactions with site personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Booking vehicles in and out of site accurately and professionally.
  • Monitoring and operating CCTV systems where required.
  • Controlling access and managing interactions with:
    • Visitors
    • Drivers
    • Contractors
    • Site personnel
  • Performing regular site patrols, including indoor and outdoor duties.
  • Maintaining accurate records, logs, and incident reports.
  • Responding effectively to incidents while escalating as appropriate.
  • Ensuring compliance with:
    • Site rules
    • Assignment instructions
    • Security procedures
  • Providing a professional, approachable, and supportive security presence.
  • Supporting site operations during:
    • Busy periods
    • Holidays
    • Sickness absence
    • Short-notice cover needs
  • Maintaining rigorous standards for conduct, safety, security, and presentation.

Requirements

To apply for this role, the following is essential:

  • Valid SIA Licence.
  • Flexibility to cover any shifts and support multiple sites as required.
  • Availability to work day shifts within designated hours.
  • Willingness to assist with last-minute site coverage.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional approach.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to follow Specific Assignment Instructions and site protocols.
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to completing site-specific training (if required).
  • Maintaining a polished professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Unbroken 5-year employment history (checkable).
  • Willingness to undertake both indoor and outdoor security tasks.
