The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled, SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer based in the Ellesmere Port area to join our team. This role involves training and ad hoc cover for holiday/sickness periods across our clients’ premises, with potential progression to a fixed shift pattern depending on opportunity.

As part of our commitment to employee development, if a permanent vacancy arises, internal candidates will receive priority consideration.

Hours & Flexibility:

  • Part-time / flexible hours to cover days, nights and weekends

Requirements

To apply, you must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Valid SIA Front-Line Security Licence (must be held most of the time whilst working)
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence – essential
  • Own vehicle or reliable transport (conditions may apply)
  • Able to achieve BS7858 security vetting (note: these checks can be lengthy)
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus always
  • Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Software (Excel, etc.)

Key Responsibilities

As a Relief Security Officer, your role will include:

  • Maintaining site security through regular patrols, logging activities, and recording incidents
  • Monitoring visitor/to contractors – signing in/out, briefing and managing access
  • Managing deliveries & paperwork in compliance with site procedures
  • Activating/deactivating security systems (alarm systems, etc.) during shifts
  • Complying with waste management and first aid protocols
  • Documenting daily activities – including incident logs, shift handovers, and incident reports
  • Monitoring Assignment Instructions & Risk Assessments, suggesting safety/quality improvements where needed
  • Upholding SKILLS CPD (SIA training mandate; first aid & fire marshal qualifications covered)
  • Displaying your SIA licence visibly at all times
  • Performing ad hoc duties as required by supervisors or clients
