Relief Security Officer

Location

CEVA Logistics, Doncaster

Working Arrangement

  • Hours: Zero Hours (Holiday & Sickness Cover)
  • Pay Rate: £13.46 per hour
  • Reports To: Operations Manager / Assistant Contract Manager / Regional Supervisors
  • Flexibility: Prefers candidates with minimal other commitments

Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a reliable and flexible Security Officer to join CEVA Logistics’ team in Doncaster. This zero-hours contract, predominantly outdoors, caters for:

  • Holiday, sickness, and short-notice shift cover
  • Anyone seeking ad-hoc and flexible work without fixed hours

As a key part of a busy logistics site, key responsibilities include:

  • Vehicle booking-in and sign-out processes
  • Active CCTV monitoring and visitor management
  • Professional interaction with drivers, contractors, and site staff
  • Daily safety patrols to ensure high standards of security

Key Responsibilities

  • Access Control: Manage vehicle bookings, visitor entries, and driver interactions
  • Surveillance: Operate CCTV systems around the clock
  • Patrols: Conduct daily site inspections (the majority outdoors)
  • Incident Response: Escalate and document incidents while following procedures
  • Compliance: Uphold site safety, security rules, and company standards
  • ** Front-of-House Support:** Maintain a professional and approachable demeanour
  • Workforce Support: Assist during peak periods and staff shortages

Requirements

  • Essential:
    • Valid SIA Licence (Anchoring or Security Guarding)
    • Five-year employment history with no gaps
  • Outdoor Fit:
    • Comfort working outdoors in all-season weather
  • Personality & Skills:
    • Flexible, dependable, and adaptable to short-notice shifts
    • Strong verbal and written communication
    • Able to confidently engage with visitors, drivers, and contractors
    • Professional, approachable appearance and conduct
    • Work independently or as a team-member

Additional Information

  • Uniform: High-visibility CNS uniform + PPE provided for wet conditions
  • Travel: Willingness to commute to CEVA Logistics, Doncaster
  • Candidates Preferred: Minimal non-negotiable commitments, ad-hoc availability
