Retail Security Relief Officer – Tesco Partnership

Location: Tesco Ingleby Barwick, Lowfields Avenue, Ingleby Barwick, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 0WA, England

Pay: £13.47 per hour / Weekly Pay (every Friday)

Hours: Flexible Contract – 0–48 hours per week (as per rota)

Shifts: Various shift patterns, Monday to Sunday

Typical Shift Times:

  • 05:30 – 13:30
  • 06:00 – 14:00
  • 07:00 – 15:00
  • 12:00 – 20:00
  • 13:30 – 23:00
  • 15:00 – 00:00

Area Coverage: Relief role covering Tesco stores across the Middlesbrough area as required.

About The Role

Kingdom Group, a trusted partner to Tesco, is expanding its Retail Security team in the Middlesbrough area. We are seeking confident, professional, and reliable Security Officers to join our relief team, based primarily at Tesco Ingleby Barwick.

This flexible role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a customer-focused retail environment and are committed to delivering outstanding security and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrolling Tesco stores to ensure the safety of customers, colleagues, and visitors
  • Acting as a visible deterrent against theft, anti-social behaviour, and criminal activity
  • Monitoring store premises and responding appropriately to incidents
  • Completing accurate reports and recording all relevant observations
  • Working closely with Tesco management teams and fellow security officers
  • Managing challenging situations calmly, professionally, and effectively
  • Supporting security operations across multiple Tesco locations within the Middlesbrough area when required

What We're Looking For

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)
  • Full 5-year checkable work history
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, confident, and reliable approach
  • Good attention to detail and sound decision-making skills
  • Previous retail security experience desirable but not essential
  • Own transport preferred due to travel between stores and varying shift patterns
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Candidates must not be students

Additional Information

  • A full five-year checkable employment history is required.
  • You will receive a contract of employment from your employer separately.
  • Pay is processed weekly (every Friday) via HIVE 360 Payroll Services.
  • This role is initially offered on a temporary basis and is not directly employed by Kingdom Service Group.
  • There may be opportunities to transfer onto a permanent Kingdom contract in the future.
  • This is a relief/flexi position, therefore full flexibility across shifts and locations is required.
  • Travel to Tesco stores throughout the Middlesbrough area may be required.
