Religious Education Teacher – Coventry

Religious Education Teacher – All-Through School (Coventry)

Location: Coventry Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Temp-to-Perm Hours: Full-Time Salary: Teacher Pay Scale (in line with Middle Pay Scale (MPS)/Upper Pay Scale (UPS))


We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join our welcoming and supportive All-Through School in Coventry, starting September 2026.

In this full-time role (initially temporary), you will teach Religious Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

You will enjoy competitive pay aligned with the Teacher Pay Scale, along with opportunities for progression to a permanent position for the right candidate.

  • Teaching RE at GCSE level
  • Nurturing students’ understanding of world religions, beliefs, ethics, and philosophical issues

  • Lesson Planning & Delivery

    • Design, plan, assess, and adapt lessons to cater to the diverse needs of learners
    • Teach key stage 3 & 4 RE, with a focus on GCSE-level content
  • Inclusive & Engaging Teaching

    • Foster awareness of global religions, ethical debates, and philosophical inquiry
    • Encourage analysis, reflection, and evidence-based discussion
  • Progress & Achievement

    • Monitor student progress using data-driven approaches
    • Implement personalised strategies to support maximised attainment
  • Safeguarding & Behaviour Management

    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding children and young people
    • Maintain high classroom standards, engagement, and discipline

Desired Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching RE at GCSE level (or training relevant to this)
  • Commitment to safeguarding fundamental to the role
  • Classroom management skills to maintain discipline and engagement
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion in RE education

Preferred

  • Experience working within a supportive, diverse school community
  • Prior experience in behaviour management for challenging situations
