Cosmo 1:1, the premiere online learning platform (formerly ClassUp), connects K-12 students across the US, Canada, and Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalised lessons. Join us as a tutor to deliver ESL instruction to students in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum, with a flexible schedule you set yourself.
Perfect for experienced educators, this role allows you to teach in an after-school setting, providing 50-minute one-on-one lessons weekly. You’ll build a welcoming, supportive, and engaging learning environment while nurturing your students' growth.
Successful tutors are reliable role models, arriving prepared, punctual, and embodying a passionate, supportive demeanor.
Role Overview
- Position type: Independent contractor
- Base pay: $20 USD/hour + incentives and bonuses
Cosmo Teacher Responsibilities
- Provide personalised one-on-one tutoring tailored to each student’s needs
- Update availability in the Cosmo app promptly
- Prepare age-appropriate, engaging lesson materials based on student’s ability
- Submit post-lesson feedback
- Professional communication with students and parents
- Attend classes on time in a professional, quiet setting
- Maintain consistent communication with Cosmo staff

Requirements
Minimum Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)
- 3+ years of K-12 ELA teaching experience
- Experience aligning to K-12 ELA standards and curriculum
- Familiarity with teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) learners
- Teaching qualification preferred (certification not mandatory)
- Reliable internet connection and access:
- A Windows or Mac PC with a ≥6000 CPU
- Ability to commit to 6+ months with Cosmo 1:1
- Available to teach during these timeframes (GMT):
- Weekdays: 8 AM – 2 PM
- Weekends: 5 AM – 2 PM
- Minimum 20 weekly teaching hours
- Access to a private, quiet space free of distractions
