Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), the premiere online learning platform that connects K-12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor for Cosmo 1:1, you’ll enjoy a flexible and consistent schedule set by you. For this role, you’ll be teaching ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum.
This is the perfect opportunity for experienced educators to connect with students in an after-school setting. You’ll meet with your students during a 50-minute, 1:1 lesson at a set time each week. As a Cosmo 1:1 tutor, you’ll build a welcoming and fun learning environment while helping students grow. It’s essential for our teachers to be reliable role models, coming to class well-prepared, on time, and with a passionate, kind demeanor.
This is an independent contractor position. The base rate for this role is $20 USD, plus additional incentives and bonuses.

Cosmo Teacher Responsibilities
- Provide personalized 1:1 instruction for your students
- Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
- Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student’s age and ability
- Submit Class Feedback after each lesson
- Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
- Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
- Stay in communication with Cosmo staff
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 in ELA
- Experience with K-12 ELA standards and curriculum
- Experience teaching ESL learners
- Teaching qualification preferred but not required
- Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
- Willingness to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
- Availability between 8 AM–2 PM GMT on Monday to Friday or 5 AM–2 PM GMT on weekends
- Minimum of 20 hours of availability weekly
- Access to a private and quiet location
- Passion for helping students learn
- Currently located in the UK
