Legal Expert (AI Legal Role) – New Ways to Apply Your Expertise

Turing invites Legal Experts to contribute to projects fine-tuning AI models like ChatGPT. If you thrive on applying legal reasoning, dissecting complex cases, and crafting clear, structured feedback—this opportunity leverages your expertise in a new arena.
No prior AI experience is required—your U.S. legal background is precisely what’s needed to shape how the next generation of AI interprets and reasoning about legal systems.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to U.S. legal hypotheticals across multiple practice areas.
- Apply a structured legal rubric to assess:
- Issue spotting
- Accuracy
- Reasoning
- Law application
- Identify gaps, edge cases, and blind spots in AI reasoning, helping define benchmarks for legal AI performance.
- Provide detailed, high-quality annotations and written feedback to refine AI models.
- Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align evaluation standards and project objectives.

Requirements
- Must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school and have Bar admission (active or inactive).
- At least 3+ years of experience in U.S. legal practice or teaching.
- Demonstrable strength in legal reasoning across core areas of U.S. law.
- Exceptional written communication and attention to detail.
- High ethical standards; familiarity with or interest in AI is advantageous (versatile).
