The Initiative

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab to elevate the accuracy of AI-generated tax research. We are seeking highly experienced UK domestic tax experts to review, correct, and validate AI models specifically focused on UK tax law.

This role strictly focuses on UK domestic taxation (international or cross-border tax expertise is not required) and ensures the AI adheres to current HMRC guidance and UK legislation.

💰 Compensation & Structure

  • Rate: $110 - $140 USD per hour.
  • Format: 100% Remote, independent contractor role.
  • Commitment: Short-term engagement requiring 10–20 hours per week (fully flexible around your professional schedule).
  • Payments: Processed weekly via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.

🎯 Core Responsibilities

  • Review complex AI-generated tax research questions and model answers concerning UK domestic taxation.
  • Rigorously validate the accuracy of tax analyses, supporting legal authorities, and case law.
  • Ensure all AI analyses correctly reflect current UK legislation, HMRC guidance, and recent tax developments.
  • Rewrite model answers and heavily refine technical grading rubrics to guarantee completeness and precision.

✅ Strict Eligibility & Credential Requirements

  • Operational Location: Candidates must be currently located in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧.
  • Professional Qualification: Must hold an ACA, ACCA, CTA, Chartered Accountant, Solicitor, Barrister, or strictly equivalent advanced UK tax qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of high-level professional experience in UK tax advisory, technical tax opinions, compliance, or litigation.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep technical expertise in UK tax legislation, HMRC guidance, and case law.
  • Preferred Skills: Strong background in Corporate Tax, Personal Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, VAT, Employment Tax, or HMRC advisory experience.
