Removals Porter
We are seeking a reliable Removals Porter to join our Johnson's team in the Edinburgh region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and transportation of office and household furniture.
Duties
- Safely packaging items before removal or storage
- Wrap & protect furniture into special wrappings and packing cases for shipping overseas.
- As a specialist packer, you might go to a location before the move to wrap and pack delicate items, like china, glass, artwork, and antiques.
- Using packaging to protect fragile items such as computers or antiques.
- Taking apart larger items of furniture for packing and removal.
- Taking down curtains and lifting carpets if needed.
- Removing doors, door frames or windows to get large pieces of furniture in or out of a building
- Packing items, loading them into vehicles and securing them safely
- Checking that all goods are secure before driving off.
- Driving to the new location, unloading the items, reassembling large items and placing them where the customer wants them.
- Unwrapping furniture and unpacking cartons.

- Flexible working, working as and when required.
- Moves between longer distances could involve overnight stays in lodgings or in a vehicle.
- Driving Licence holders essential
