Renewable Energy Specialist

__Are You Passionate About Renewable Energy?

If you’re eager to make a difference in tackling climate change and have experience in solar PV system design and delivering large-scale projects, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

You’ll join our team as a Solar PV Project Development Engineer, supporting our net-zero transition by designing, developing, and safeguarding solar projects across our estate. This is a great opportunity for someone with expertise in project lifecycle management, from feasibility studies through to operation and maintenance, while working with a mission-driven organisation committed to environmental remediation, community safety, and renewable energy innovation.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a small but impactful team, contributing to the delivery of robust, financially viable, and scalable solar energy solutions across our mines. This role provides flexibility and long-term stability while offering tangible opportunities to shape cleaner, greener remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept Design & Feasibility Work with colleagues to develop technical designs, conduct financial and logistical assessments, and create evidence-based business cases using the Five Case Model (Strategic, Economic, Commercial, Financial, Management).
  • Technical Oversight & Risk Management Ensure designs align with planning constraints, grid connection requirements, and commercial challenges.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance Support Lead tasks related to solar PV performance reviews, coordinate O&M inspections, and resolve operational issues with third-party providers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, network operators, and local authorities to navigate constraints and opportunities.
  • Full Lifecycle Accountability Own aspects of a project from ideation to ongoing maintenance, ensuring long-term viability and value for energy users.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
