Renewable Heating Engineer
Renewable Heating Engineer – Wigan, Full-Time, Permanent
At Richard Irvin (part of the RSK Group), we’re recruiting for a Renewable Heating Engineer to join our engineering team in Wigan, UK.
About the Role
We’re a group of skilled professionals—engineers, operations staff, project managers, and compliance specialists—who tailor our services to our clients’ unique needs. With experience across public and private sectors, we’re nationally spread, ensuring support is always accessible.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Servicing, inspecting, and repairing air-source heat pumps (ASHP) and ground-source heat pumps (GSHP)
- Plumbing installation in new constructions and renovations, including renewable and gas systems
- Conducting drafting, design, and gas compliance audits in commercial projects
- Diagnosing and repairing water supply lines, drainage, and fixtures
- Collaborating with contractors, site workers, and technical teams to ensure seamless project delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Plumber (preferably commercial*).
- Certification in:
- G3 Unvented systems and Water Regulations
- Legionella awareness (e.g., COSHH & HRWF training)
- Domestic/Business gas safety (ACS accredited NSG305 & NSG308* or equivalent NVQ Level 3/4/5 in Gas Installations & Safety Management)
- 18th edition electrical safe isolation knowledge
- ACS plumbing qualification for water systems**
- FGAS certification for non-domestic refrigerant gas services**
- BPEC certification (preferred) in renewable heating installation & maintenance
