Rental Manager - Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles
Location: Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire
Salary: Competitive plus bonus
Job Summary
As a Rental Manager for Volkswagen Commercials you will ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Rental department. With responsibility for the growth and profitability of the department through the development of sales to both retail and local corporate customers, you will consistently drive and deliver excellent customer service.

Your Day To Day Will Include
- Overall accountability for the department budget and P&L management.
- Promoting the Rental brand and Volkswagen Commercials locally, implementing a local sales and marketing strategy to support both the national corporate and retail business. Increasing the number of local corporate accounts within the designated area.
- Production of business plans and strategies associated with the development of the Rental Department.
- Resolving any problems and delivering outstanding customer service.
- Line Management of the Rental team.
- Liaising with the general public and corporate clients both on the phone and in person.
- Monitoring of daily desktop reports, vehicle availability, utilisation, vehicles overdue, expiring insurance policies of corporate customers, expiring credit card authorisations, excess mileage etc.
- Clear vehicle status management to include the weekly audit of vehicles.
- Processing payments and ID checks correctly, including pre-authorisation/card details/ credit checks etc.
- Ensuring that a thorough internal and external inspection is carried out on all vehicles including checking tyre pressure, oil level and general presentation prior to rent.
- Month end close down finance procedures and liaison with the Finance Department.
- Credit control lead for the corporate account customers.

- Timely reporting of damage/accident notifications to VWFS and action repairs in conjunction with the relevant insure

What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a rental role is essential.
- A customer centric approach, always striving to deliver service above customer expectations.
- Experience of working to service levels and quality measures.
- BVRLA City & Guilds Rental Operator Skills Certificate is desirable
- Experience of managing a team, mentoring colleagues to achieve results.
- The ability to prioritise and manage workload independently, working under pressure in a fast moving environment
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- High standards of numeracy and literacy and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A driving license free from excessive penalties.
