Garage Door Repair Engineer

Based in: South Croydon, Surrey

Salary range: £31–£37k (subject to experience) + £4–£8k commission

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Repair Engineer at our Croydon branch. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be responsible for repairing garage doors and associated products primarily at residential properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who:

The Role & Key Responsibilities

  • Repairing garage doors and associated products
  • Diagnosing faults and identifying appropriate repair solutions
  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and adjustments
  • Providing excellent on-site customer service
  • Completing relevant paperwork and job records
  • Maintaining company vehicle, tools and equipment
  • Providing assistance to the installation team (as required)

Note: This role involves manual handling and heavy lifting.

Essential

  • Practical manual skills and a problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Reliable and self-motivated approach
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in garage doors, construction, builders’ merchants, home improvements or trade-related industries
  • Experience in servicing, maintenance or repair work
  • Experience working in customers’ homes
  • Mechanical or engineering background
  • Background in sectors such as:
    • Roller shutter industry
    • Window and door installation
    • Glazing
    • Automatic gates
    • Lift engineers
    • Appliance repairs
    • Locksmithing
    • General maintenance engineering

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm
