Garage Door Repair Engineer

About the Role

Based in Upminster, Essex Salary: £31–37k (subject to experience) plus £4–8k commission

Access Garage Doors is one of the South East’s longest-established and most respected garage door and entrance door specialists, serving customers since 1976 as the largest garage door group in the region.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Repair Engineer for our Upminster branch. This full-time, hands-on role covers repairing garage doors and associated products, primarily at residential properties.

The Role / Responsibilities

  • Repairing garage doors and related products, including:
    • Diagnosing faults and recommending suitable solutions
    • Servicing, maintenance, and fine-tuning installations
    • On-site customer service consultations
    • Completing job records and paperwork

Requirements & Experience

Essential

  • Practical, problem-solving skills (fault diagnosis, mechanical aptitude)
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Full UK driver’s licence (max 3 penalty points)

Working Hours & Structure

  • Standard hours: 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday
  • Exceptional flexibility may apply for out-of-hours urgent callouts.
