Repair Engineer

Garage Door Repair Engineer

Location: Based in Sidcup, Kent

About the Role

Salary range of £31–37k subject to experience plus £4–8k commission through price work rates.

Access Garage Doors are one of the South East’s longest-established and most respected garage door and entrance door specialists, proudly serving customers since 1976. As the largest garage door group in the South, we continue to invest in growth, expansion, and delivering outstanding customer service across the region.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Repair Engineer at our Sidcup branch. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be responsible for repairing garage doors and associated products, primarily at residential properties.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and wants to join a stable, well-established, and growing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repairing garage doors and associated products
  • Diagnosing faults and identifying appropriate repair solutions
  • Servicing, maintenance, and adjustments of equipment
  • Providing excellent on-site customer service
  • Completing job records and relevant paperwork
  • Maintaining the company vehicle, tools, and equipment
  • Assisting the installation team as required

This is a hands-on role involving manual handling and heavy lifting.


Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Strong practical manual skills and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliable, self-motivated approach
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum of 3 penalty points)

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in garage doors, construction, builders’ merchants, home improvements, or trade-related industries
  • Experience in servicing, maintenance, or repair work
  • Experience working in customers’ homes
  • Mechanical or engineering background

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 7.30am – 5pm
