Garage Door Repair Engineer

Location: Sidcup, Kent

Salary: £31–£37k (subject to experience) + £4–£8k commission

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Repair Engineer to join our Sidcup branch. This is a hands-on, practical role involving the repair of garage doors and associated products, primarily on residential properties.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing garage doors and associated products
  • Diagnosing faults and recommending suitable fixes
  • Servicing, maintenance, and adjustments of equipment
  • Delivering outstanding customer service on-site
  • Completing paperwork, job records, and documentation
  • Maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Assisting the installation team when required

Note: This is a hands-on role—manual handling and heavy lifting are routine tasks.


Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Practical manual skills and a problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong customer service & communication skills
  • Sharp attention to detail
  • Reliable, self-motivated approach
  • Firm fault-finding & troubleshooting abilities
  • Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 penalty points)

Desirable Experience

✔ Experience within:

  • Garage doors, construction, builders merchants, or home improvements
  • Servicing, maintenance, or repair work
  • Working in customers’ homes ✔ Mechanical or engineering background

Working Hours

Typically: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm
