Repair Technician - Electrical

Kinetic is recruiting an experienced Electrical Repair Technician on behalf of a leading global supplier of safety components and engineered solutions to the railway industry. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected organisation known for quality, innovation, and long term career development. This is a full time, permanent role, working Monday to Thursday 7:30am-3:30pm and Friday 7:30am-1:30pm. The salary is between £28000.00 - £32000.00 DOE with bonuses on offer.

As the Repair Technician, you will be tasked with:

  • Set up and test electronic equipment to ensure full functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and refurbish electronic products to company standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues on electronic circuit boards using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Use testing equipment to inspect, assess, and verify product performance.
  • Replace components and complete board level repairs with precision.
  • Perform soldering and de-soldering of electronic components.
  • Record test results accurately and report any faults or further repair requirements.
  • Interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and repair instructions.
  • Maintain stock of parts, components, and tools.
  • Participate in training to enhance technical capability and product knowledge.
  • Support continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to processes and working methods.
  • Follow Health & Safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

We need the next Electrical Repair Technician to have:

  • Proven experience as an Electronic Technician or Electrical Repair Technician.
  • Excellent English communication skills (spoken, written, and reading) are mandatory.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and product drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical, analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Electronics qualifications or exams are beneficial but not essential.
  • Confident using MS Office applications.
