Repair Technician – Sealant Systems (Mechanical Bias)

Location: Solihull, West Midlands

Contract Type: Rolling Contract with Permanent Opportunity

Shift Pattern: Rotating 3 Shift Pattern

About The Role

Apex Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of a Repair Technician – Sealant Systems (Mechanical Bias) to join a leading automotive manufacturing facility in Solihull. This Repair Technician – Sealant Systems (Mechanical Bias) position is initially offered on a rolling contract basis, with a strong opportunity for permanent conversion following a successful review period.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance and fault-finding activities on sealant application systems to ensure optimum production performance and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair faults on sealant application equipment and associated systems.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability.
  • Perform mechanical inspections and component replacements as required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong mechanical or technician background.
  • Experience within automotive, manufacturing or production environments.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Previous experience as a Repair Technician – Sealant Systems (Mechanical Bias) would be advantageous.

Contract Information

This position is offered on a rolling contract basis, with the opportunity for permanent employment following a successful review period. The successful Repair Technician – Sealant Systems (Mechanical Bias) will work within a busy manufacturing environment supporting production operations.

Working Hours

Candidates will generally work a rotating three-shift pattern:

  • Mornings: 06:00 – 13:30
  • Afternoons: 13:30 – 21:00
  • Nights: 21:00 – 06:00

There may also be a requirement to work double days:

  • Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Late Shift: 14:00 – 22:00
