The Role

Canopius are looking for a talented nearly or newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) to join our Regulatory Reporting team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop specialist expertise within the Lloyd’s and insurance market while working closely with senior finance stakeholders across the business.

In this role, you will gain exposure to a broad range of regulatory and financial reporting disciplines, including Lloyd’s returns, UK GAAP reporting, Solvency UK, performance monitoring and overseas regulatory submissions. You will work with experienced finance professionals in a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement, innovation and professional development.

If you are a motivated accountant who enjoys analysing complex financial information, delivering high-quality outputs and building strong relationships across a business, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of regulatory and financial reporting to Lloyd’s, including UK GAAP, Solvency UK, performance monitoring and overseas regulatory reporting.
  • Collate, analyse and prepare financial information for both external regulatory submissions and internal management reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of analytical reviews, reconciliations and control documentation to support a robust reporting framework.
  • Support the presentation of regulatory returns and reporting outputs to senior management for review and sign-off.
  • Liaise with colleagues across Finance and the wider business to coordinate inputs and ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
  • Contribute to maintaining a strong control environment, ensuring reporting is accurate, complete and compliant.
  • Partner with teams including Syndicate Production, Group Finance, FP&A, Capital, Tax and Reserving to drive effective collaboration and understanding.
  • Develop productive working relationships with WNS, our outsourced financial services provider, to support successful delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance reporting and leverage technology and automation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
