Job Introduction
About The Role
As a Confined Space Safety & Rescue Technician, you will provide safety cover for confined space entry activities, ensuring the safety of your own team, customers, and contractors working in high-risk environments. The role involves overseeing safe systems of work, monitoring confined space operations, maintaining rescue capability, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety standards and company procedures. Work as part of the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide safety cover during confined space entry operations.
- Ensure the safety of customers, employees, and contractors at all times, ensuring relevant Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are in place and adhered to.
- Monitor confined space activities to ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and health and safety legislation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines and pre-agreed work programmes.
- Support and implement emergency rescue plans where required.
- Liaise with customers regarding project requirements and provide professional safety guidance as required.
- Ensure all safety equipment, gas monitoring equipment, rescue systems, and company assets are maintained, inspected, and fit for purpose.
- Maintain responsibility for company vehicles and equipment allocated to each assignment as part of a team.
- Ensure all tools and equipment supplied by the company are used safely and correctly.
- Account for and secure all company assets and equipment upon completion of each assignment.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including permits, inspections, safety records, and site reports.
- Promote a positive safety culture and challenge unsafe behaviours when identified.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times, acting as an ambassador for the company.
- Be available to respond to call-outs, standby duties, and emergency situations outside normal working hours when required.
- Be clean shaven at all times.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Educated to a reasonable standard.
- Competent IT skills with the ability to complete electronic documentation and reports.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience communicating with customers and stakeholders in a face-to-face environment.
- Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with individuals at all levels.
- Good organisational and planning skills.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and customer service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours and travel requirements, including out of hours working as needed.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience of confined space operations and safety standby duties.
- Experience using gas monitoring and rescue equipment.
- Manufacturer-specific equipment training.
- Experience working with small teams or work groups.
Mandatory Qualifications (To Be Attained During Employment)
- CS1 – Confined Space Entry with Use of Escape Set
- CS2 – Confined Space Entry with Use of Escape Set and Full Breathing Apparatus
- City & Guilds High Risk
- Emergency Frec3 Medical Training – including the use of medical gases and defib
- Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) Completion
- Rescue and Emergency Response Training, including, but not limited to:
- Frec3 Medical Training
- Rescue Techniques
- Use of Rescue Stretcher
- Casualty Recovery Procedures
- Any courses that are deemed necessary by the teams management for works.
