Permanent Research Administrator (Hybrid, London)
Location: London
In this role, you’ll be primarily based in our London office for a minimum of three days a week, with the option to work from home for the remaining days. Learn more about our flexible work culture here.
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Administrator to join our Shareholder Identification team. In this role, you will:
- Process disclosure responses from global custodial banks and intermediaries
- Convert data into standardised formats
- Map unknown accounts to beneficial owners and investment managers
- Work extensively with large datasets, primarily in Excel
This role is ideal for those with experience in shareholder data analysis, shareholder ID, or share register administration.
Key Responsibilities
The Research Administrator works closely with a team of Shareholder Identification specialists, reporting to the Team Lead. Core responsibilities include:
- Supporting the team and wider business unit in processing disclosure responses received from third parties using:
- Excel
- Internal proprietary tools
- Performing data mapping and data matching activities by:
- Utilising third-party data vendors and online tools
- Ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment between different systems and datasets
- Conducting investigative research to resolve complex ownership chains
- Maintaining our internal database, ensuring all entries are:
- Accurate
- Unique
- Researching online fund literature to validate shareholding data across various sources

Requirements & Experience
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in:
- Shareholder register analysis
- Processing disclosure responses from global custodians and financial institutions
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of:
- Shareholder types
- Fund and investment manager structures
- Familiarity with SRD II (Second Shareholder Rights Directive) and global market practices is desirable but not mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail -Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data validation, pivot tables, macros highly advantageous)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of equity markets or experience in investor relations is a plus
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong drive to deliver results
- Apple language skills, particularly European languages, would be a valuable differentiator
