About the Role: Equity Research Analyst
Location: UK
Division: Institutional Banking & Investment Services
We are seeking an Equity Research Analyst to produce high-conviction, differentiated research on Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology companies for institutional investors.
In this role, you will:
- Combine scientific understanding with rigorous financial analysis to generate:
- Actionable investment views
- Support for client engagement
- Contribute to a best-in-class research franchise

Key Responsibilities
You will:

Create and publish proprietary equity research on Pharma and Biotech coverage, including:
- Stock ratings
- Research across macro, industry, and corporate levels Translating scientific/clinical developments into investment implications
- Development and maintenance of:
- Financial models
- Valuation analyses
- Generation of investment ideas and timely commentary around catalysts, such as:
- Trial readouts
- Regulatory decisions
- Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Earnings
- Policy changes

- Initiation notes
- Earnings updates
- Thematic pieces
- Event-driven research

Perform deep due diligence on:

- Regulatory pathways

Engage with external experts, including:
- Thought leaders (KOLs)
- Physicians

- Clinical data
- Publications

Maintain a strong industry trends focus:
- Innovation platforms
- Biosimilars
- Specialty pharma
- Rare disease research
- Oncology

Collaborate with Sales & Trading to ensure research is effectively:
- Delivered to institutional clients

Support corporate access activities:
- Partner with senior management teams on:
- Non-deal roadshows
- Conferences
- Field trips
- Calls (with roles such as CEO, CFO, CSO or Head of IR)
- Partner with senior management teams on:

Build client credibility through:
- Thoughtful discussions

- Scientific/devops or clinical roles with some market exposure
