You’ll produce differentiated investment research, build and maintain robust financial models, and contribute to high-impact client engagement. You’ll also support corporate access activity and develop relationships with management teams across luxury and sporting goods As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package.   • Support and, where appropriate, take ownership of coverage for some of our global luxury and sporting goods coverage as well as initiating coverage of additional names in luxury
  • Build and maintain detailed financial models, valuation frameworks and earnings forecasts
  • Write investment research notes company specifics, thematic pieces, sector outlooks and investment recommendations
  • Track industry developments including consumer spending trends, tourism flows, FX impacts and macro factors relevant to luxury demand. Come up with ideas of differentiating database that could be built to produce differentiating research on the back of it
  • Identify investment opportunities and risks through fundamental analysis and scenario work
  • Present investment views and support idea generation for institutional investors (asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds)
  • Participate and generate client meetings, calls, roadshows and sector events; provide timely follow-up and written responses to requests
  • Organise your own marketing trips in some of the destinations with the support of your senior analyst
  • Monitor and maintain consumer trends across Europe, North America, China, Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • Proven experience in equity research, investment banking, asset management or relevant buy-side experience
  • Existing coverage experience within luxury goods, consumer discretionary, or branded consumer sectors and eyewear
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation capability
  • Experience interacting with institutional investors and corporate management teams/ IR
  • Advanced Excel financial modelling and valuation expertise (DCF, EV/EBITDA, P/E, SOTP, scenarios/sensitivities)
  • Possess data analysis and presentation skills using Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong interest in luxury brands, consumer behaviour and brand economics
  • Understanding of China demand dynamics and global wealth trends
