About the Role
We are hiring a Research Assistant who will work within the research group of Professor Jamie Vicary, which focuses on the interactions between category theory, higher category theory, type theory, and machine learning.

This specific role is focused on using type-theoretic models of higher category theory to build concrete artifacts witnessing interesting geometrical phenomena, particularly those arising from the periodic tables of higher categories, such as the Eckmann-Hilton move and the Syllepsis.
Responsibilities
The role-holder will be expected to contribute to excellence in research as a member of the research team, carrying out research under the direction of the principal investigator. This may include mathematical work, analysis, and writing computer code, as well as writing papers and giving presentations. Contribution to publications will be encouraged. Contribution to teaching within the department/faculty will include assistance in the supervision of students and some limited supervision of classes, where agreed with the role-holder.

In addition to the base salary stated above, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay.
