Research Assistant/Associate in Engineering
A position exists for a Research Assistant/Associate in the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, to work on multiple cross-disciplinary projects within the context of sustainable and resilient infrastructure. The successful candidate will join a large dynamic team of researchers working on different challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving, planning and conducting innovative research within own area of expertise as well as broader areas in collaboration with others
- Consolidating, integrating, producing and disseminating research outputs from multiple projects
- Developing new and strategic research initiatives and opportunities
- Developing research training activities
- Collaborating with academic and industry partners
- Leading and managing multiple research activities
The post holder will be located in Civil Engineering, West Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK.

Requirements
Applicants must have (or be close to obtaining) a PhD in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline; to have excellent leadership, management, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and to engage with industry partners.
Appointment
Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded.
Salary Ranges
- Research Assistant: £33,002 - £35,608
- Research Associate: £37,694 - £46,049
Fixed-term
The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
