Research Associate, Executive Search
Cheltenham or London (Hybrid) · Full-Time· Permanent
Who we are
Intaso is the specialist cyber leadership executive search firm trusted by the world's leading PE firms, venture-backed technology founders, and cyber professional services practices. Part of the JSS Group, we place transformation CISOs and cyber leadership teams across EMEA and the US.
We operate inside the global cyber security community — not from the outside. We run elite industry events and publish proprietary market intelligence. When we call a senior CISO or a PE operating partner, they already know who we are. That matters for this role.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Something new is launching. You'll be at the centre of it. Over the next six months, Intaso will be launching a significant new initiative — one that formalises and extends the professional community we have spent a decade building at the intersection of cyber leadership, private capital, and high-growth technology. We won't say more than that here. But this role is the engine that makes it work.
We're looking for a Research Associate to own two things simultaneously: the operational coordination of a curated professional programme, and the proactive development of relationships with our target market — transformation security leaders, PE and VC investors, and technology founders.
This is not a passive coordination role. You will be running strategic outreach campaigns to senior executives, converting interest into conversations, and converting conversations into meetings for our leadership team. You will also be researching and identifying individuals who meet a specific profile for what we are building — and managing the process of bringing them in.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Programme Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Own the end-to-end participant pipeline — from initial identification through to onboarding, communication, and ongoing engagement.
- Act as the first point of contact for prospective participants and current members of the programme, ensuring every interaction reflects the quality of what we're building.
- Coordinate logistics for events, briefings, and scheduled communications, working closely with external partners and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records across our CRM and programme tracking systems — precision matters here.
- Own the internal reporting on programme engagement: who's in, who's pending, where the pipeline stands.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Executive Outreach & Market Development:
- Build and execute structured outreach sequences targeting senior decision-makers in private equity, venture capital, technology, and cyber advisory — across LinkedIn, email, and event follow-up.
- Research and qualify new target prospects using market intelligence tools, our existing network, and public sources — building target lists mapped to specific profiles and sectors.
- Manage multi-channel outreach campaigns with clarity and consistency — sequencing, personalisation, and follow-through matter as much as initial contact.
- Convert outreach into conversations. Convert conversations into qualified meetings for our Practice Directors.
- Prepare prospect dossiers ahead of senior-level meetings — context, background, current role, recent activity, and any relevant shared connections.
Profile Research & Candidate Identification:
- Research and map security leaders, PE operating partners, and technology founders who meet the profile for our new programme — building intelligence on individuals before any contact is made.
- Stay current on the market: new CISO appointments, fund closes, executive moves, and company launches — and identify the right moments to engage.
- Build and maintain target lists that are accurate, qualified, and commercially relevant — not just large.
- Support our search practice with candidate identification and mapping where needed, working within our existing research workflow.
ABOUT YOU
There isn't a rigid checklist to cover what we're looking for. But the profile that will succeed in this role tends to look something like this:
- Experience in a role that required regular, direct written and verbal contact with senior professionals — executive search research, a high-end EA or PA role, BDR or SDR at a professional services firm, client-facing coordination at a membership organisation, or similar.
- Impeccable written communication. You'll be representing Intaso in the inboxes of former government cyber leads, PE Partners, and CISO Society members. Every message needs to be precise, warm, and worth reading.
- Self-directed. You'll be given a clear brief and trusted to execute — not micro-managed. You're comfortable building your own structure, managing your own pipeline, and reporting on your own performance.
- Organised by instinct, not effort. You find it uncomfortable when things aren't tracked and you don't need to be told twice to follow up.
- Genuine curiosity about the cyber security, private capital, and technology markets. You don't need to be technical — but you do need to want to understand the landscape, the players, and what drives them.
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Sales Navigator (or equivalent), CRM tools, and outreach platforms. You've run campaigns before and you know what good outreach looks like versus what gets ignored.
- Composure. You'll be engaging with people who are extremely senior, extremely busy, and extremely good at filtering out anything that wastes their time. The bar is high.

- A small, high-performing team environment. You won't be lost in a headcount. What you do will be visible and it will matter.

- Competitive salary, plus performance-linked bonus.
