The Department of English invites applications for a Research Associate position:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of English at McGill University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate to support research activities in drama and theatre studies. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Theatre Studies and demonstrate expertise in drama and theatre in Quebec and Canada. The position requires fluency in both French and English, as well as experience in drama publishing and research data management. The successful candidate will report directly to Prof Erin Hurley (Department of English).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct a project data audit.
- Identify existing data fields, gaps.
- Work with and manage a BA RA to clean, organize, and structure existing project data.
- Compare existing inventories of published plays to identify overlaps, discrepancies, and opportunities for consolidation.
- Work with institutional partners to harmonize analytic categories and data classification frameworks.
- Produce an audit/gap memo.
- Co-lead archival and source research related to the project.

SOMMAIRE DU POSTE
Le Département d’anglais de l’Université McGill est à la recherche d’un(e) associé(e) de recherche hautement motivé(e) et qualifié(e) afin de soutenir les activités de recherche liées à l’audit, à l’organisation et à l’analyse des données de projet en études théâtrales et dramatiques. La personne retenue contribuera à la gestion des données de recherche, à la recherche archivistique et à la coordination avec des partenaires de recherche externes. Le poste exige une capacité à travailler avec des ensembles de données complexes, à collaborer avec des équipes interdisciplinaires et à contribuer au développement de catégories analytiques pour la recherche. Le candidat retenu relèvera directement de la professeure Erin Hurley (Département d’anglais).
RESPONSABILITÉS
- Effectuer un audit des données du projet.
- Identifier les champs de données existants et les lacunes à combler.
- Collaborer avec et gérer l’assistant(e) de recherche au baccalauréat (BA RA) afin de nettoyer, organiser et structurer les données existantes du projet.
- Comparer les inventaires existants des pièces publiées afin d’identifier les chevauchements, les divergences et les possibilités de consolidation.
- Collaborer avec le partenaires de recherche afin d’harmoniser les catégories analytiques et les cadres de classification des données.
- Produire un rapport d’audit et d’analyse des lacunes.
- Co-diriger la recherche archivistique et documentaire liée au projet.
