Position Overview
In Spring 2028, the National Gallery will launch a new public-facing Research Centre, designed to facilitate and showcase groundbreaking research in the history, display, conservation, and science of painting. This multidisciplinary space will engage a diverse range of stakeholders, including:
- The Gallery’s research-active staff
- Artists-in-Residence
- Users of our extensive Library & Archive collections
- A research-engaged general public attending events and accessing resources

About the Role
The National Gallery is now recruiting for a Research Centre Manager to support the planning and day-to-day delivery of an exceptional user experience at the Centre, while creativity exploring the role of different spaces with Gallery colleagues.
The Manager will provide clarity, consistency, and leadership to ensure the Research Centre operates seamlessly, covering:
- Coordination of centre-wide operations
- Staff management
- Ensuring compliance with regulations
- Maintenance of facilities and administration
