We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Research and Development team as a R&D Engineer - Composite Analysis at our Banbury site.

Your Role

As a Research and Development Engineer you will be a key contributor in the development of new composite products and technologies, from initial concept to qualification. Working in a challenging and fast-paced working environment within the R&D team. The successful candidate will support the design, development and optimization of a wide range of aerospace products, manufactured primarily through filament winding, HP-RTM, and braiding techniques, utilizing novel and efficient joining technologies. Must be a critical thinker with ability to solve problems through analysis, modelling and simulation.

Your role will allow you to:

  • Engage in the design, development, and analysis of novel structural composite components, including the use of first principal calculations and Finite Element Analysis
  • Author reports and documentation necessary to demonstrate technology progression and qualification
  • Support in testing to interrogate and validate component and material performance
  • Work with CAD modelling and technical drawing
  • Develop design and analysis tools for composite components

What You'll Bring

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Able to analyse and solve new engineering problems using first principles
  • Excellent grounding in solid mechanics and stress analysis
  • Experience with Matlab, Siemens NX, Abaqus and excel beneficial
  • Knowledge of composite materials is desirable, willingness to learn essential
  • Highly motivated, with a keen ability to use own initiative
  • Willing to take hands-on approach to developing components and testing methods
  • Clear open two-way communication skills
  • Fit the dynamic and enthusiastic culture within CTG and flexible with working hours
