Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Engineering & Building (50%)

  • Write production Python code to automate research workflows and scale analysis
  • Build data pipelines that power our products (DuckDB, Polars, SQL)
  • Own end-to-end solutions from data ingestion to client-facing outputs
  • Contribute to our core infrastructure and data architecture

This is not: a research role where you hand off to engineers, or an engineering role where you ignore the research. You'll do both, report to the founder, and have real autonomy.

Ideal fit:

  • Strong foundation in Python or a quantitative field (physics, maths, engineering, economics).
  • Curiosity about both financial markets and how to build systems that scale.
  • Not afraid to do both research and code in the same week.

Success looks like:

  • Within 6 months, you've owned a research project from conception to client delivery, built a production pipeline that scales, and contributed to at least one core forecasting model.
  • Within 12 months, you're leading your own research vertical or architectural initiative.
