Research Facility Systems Coordinator
The University of Manchester invites applications for the position of Research Facility Systems Coordinator for the One Research Facility (ORF) project, an initiative delivering innovation and new capability in how the University supports its extensive research portfolio.
The post-holder will coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Pasteur Platform Management System (PPMS) and related projects, helping to improve how research facilities are coordinated, supported and reported across the University. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to service improvement, strengthen collaboration across facilities, and help deliver a more connected and efficient research infrastructure.
Working closely with the Expert Technical Specialist for Research Facility Reporting, the post-holder will co-ordinate administrative and operational activity that supports PPMS, respond to user queries, and help maintain accurate service and equipment information. The role will also support the development of consistent processes, reporting and data quality across research facilities, making it well suited to someone with experience in technical operations or research facility administration within a complex organisation.

About You

Essential Criteria
- Experience supporting a shared service, booking, asset or operational management system
- Experience maintaining accurate records of technical services, equipment or contacts across multiple teams
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Good communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a large organisation
- A professional, customer-focused approach with strong digital skills
Desirable Criteria
- Experience using PPMS or a similar research facility or service management system
- Experience working in research support or technical services within higher education
- Experience contributing to service improvement or process development initiatives
- Experience working with workflow or service management systems (e.g. ServiceNow)
