Research Manager

Research Manager (15 Months MAT cover)

Hybrid, London - City

Full time, Temporary

Salary: £44,000 - £52,000

Your Role

As Research Manager, you will lead the delivery of high-quality, impactful research across a diverse portfolio of projects, including both commissioned and in-house studies. Working within the Strategy, Advocacy and Professional Standards Directorate, you will play a key role in shaping and strengthening the research and insight function, helping establish it as a centre of excellence across policy research, customer insight, and product and proposition development.

You will design and oversee robust research programmes, applying appropriate qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method approaches. With strong technical expertise, you will make informed decisions on methodologies, ensure the integrity and quality of outputs, and provide guidance to stakeholders on research design and delivery. Alongside this, you will manage projects end-to-end, balancing scope, timelines, budgets, and risk, to ensure successful outcomes aligned to the wider research agenda.

A core part of the role is translating complex research findings into clear, actionable insights. You will act as a trusted advisor, embedding research into decision-making through compelling narratives, presentations, and insight frameworks such as customer journey mapping and segmentation. You will also facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to drive innovation and ensure insight is effectively integrated across the organisation.

Building strong relationships across internal teams and external partners, you will promote cross-functional collaboration and ensure research outputs inform strategic priorities. You will uphold the highest standards of research quality, ethics, and compliance, while contributing to continuous improvement and supporting the measurement of research impact across the organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
